Dear students,
At 12:00am 1st September 2021 the AIMS system was switched off by its vendor (Zeenode Uganda Ltd) and the https://student.mak.ac.ug/ portal is currently inaccessible to the student community.
Only the https://aims.mak.ac.ug/zeeauth-2.1/index.yaws?cache&v3=11 portal is accessible to DICTS to complete pending downloads of University data that may still be on the AIMS system.
The above incidents, are a result of Makerere University management officially disengaging Zeenode Uganda Ltd on the continued use of the AIMS system at Makerere University.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ACMIS SYSTEM
Yesterday afternoon, the DVCAA and DICTS team introduced the Academic Information Management System (ACMIS) to all critical stakeholders of the University in a well attended meeting with Principals, Deputy Principals, HoDs, AR-ICT division, College Registrars, IT personnel and the student Guild Leadership.
At present, good progress has been made towards the implementation of ACMIS. DICTS, AR-ICT division and now college registrars and the Finance department teams, are going to continue working together in the next few weeks to get the system fully operational.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT TRAINING
DICTS and the AR-ICT division, have developed a college by college change management training program which we are going to start following in the next two weeks to bring the entire university community on board.
CONTINUATION OF PAYMENTS
We are going to engage the US and Bursar in an urgent meeting to agree on modalities of enabling continued payments of tuition until ACMIS is fully up and running.
INTERIM MODALITIES FOR CONTINUED TUITION PAYMENT WILL BE COMMUNICATED THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY BURSAR. PLEASE REMAIN CALM AND STAY TUNED.
We are also making efforts to enable the https://apply.mak.ac.ug/ portal in the next few days for prospective graduate students to continue making online applications for admission to the University.
All other inquiries regarding the implementation of the ACMIS system should be channeled to ACMISimplementation@mak.ac.ug
Regards, Samuel
