Alex holds an M.Sc in Data Communication and Software Engineering, a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering all from Makerere University. He has key competences in ICT Infrastructure Design, Implementation, Management and Maintenance reinforced by over Ten Years of experience.

He is now the Planning and Maintenance Manager, Directorate for ICT Support, Makerere University, where he is spearheading the institutional ICT infrastructure expansion, new technology acquisition, and proper maintenance management of the ICT infrastructure.

He is also a member of the Core Engineering Team of the Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU), which is spearheading the setting up RENUNet, the physical ICT network to support collaborative operations (in training, education, and research) among RENU member institutions
