Older generations often view it as a time-wasting activity for the youth, perceiving their addiction to it as detrimental. In contrast, the younger generation, although heavily immersed in social media, features a mix of users who harness its potential while others engage in portraying a curated, often unrealistic, online persona, putting undue pressure on their peers.

Leading the pack is Facebook, with 2.9 billion monthly active users, followed by YouTube (2.3 billion), WhatsApp (2 billion), FB Messenger (1.3 billion), WeChat (1.2 billion), Twitter, Snapchat, and TikTok, which has witnessed remarkable growth.
